Temperature is soaring up high in the sky. The humidity level is also rising in competition. The temperature, combined with the humidity, is making public life hell. In this unbearable condition, you have to stay conscious and follow some rules to keep yourself protected from the heat. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has the following tips for the US people to follow in this situation.

Keep yourself hydrated all the time

Summer drains your body fluid too quickly. Salt and minerals are also lost. That’s why it is suggested for all the people to drink more water than usual. And if anyone is taking an exercise, (s)he must consider drinking some sports beverages in order to refill the lost energy with sweat.

Appropriate clothing

Clothes play an important role in keeping our bodies cool. Choose clothes that are made of cotton. That will enable your skin to breathe. The clothes should be loosely fitted and light in color.

Outdoor activities

Plan your outdoor activities carefully. It is recommended that working under direct sunlight should be avoided. And if that’s impossible, take all the necessary precautions. Wear a big hat on your head. Apply sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher on the exposed areas of your body.

Buddy check

Most of the time, we don’t have any idea if we are being attacked by the scorching heat until we are attacked already. That’s why it’s a good system to use the ‘buddy check’ formula. If you are working together, keep a close eye on each other to monitor the conditions.

People at high risk

Normally young chaps can fight anything off better than anyone else. But such is not the case with olds and kids. So monitor their conditions closely.

If the heat gets out of the hand, or if you feel uncomfortable going out, consider staying at home. If it gets even hotter, bathe twice or thrice a day.[:bn]
