Mumbai came back victorious in Rohit’s batting

Reigning champions Mumbai Indians lost the opening match of the ongoing 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In their second match against Knight Riders on Wednesday, Mumbai won by 49 runs at an average of 195 runs. Captain Rohit Sharma won the man of the match award for his devastating 80 run innings. Kolkata Knight Riders captain Dinesh Karthik won the toss and elected to bat first at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

Batting first, Rohit Sharma‘s 80 off 54 balls with six sixes and three fours helped Mumbai reach 195  Runs for five wickets.

In reply, Kolkata lost wickets at regular intervals and ended the innings with 146 runs. Pat Cummins scored the highest 33 runs for the team. Besides, captain Dinesh Karthik scored 30 runs.
